First Grade
Welcome to Ms. S. Leal's 1st Grader's Website!
We are off to a wonderful year in 1st grade.
The students have adjusted well with the transition from kindergarten to 1st grade.
The road trip will be great in room 8!
What We Can Do To Help Our Children Learn
Listen to them and pay attention to their problems.
Read with them.
Tell family stories.
Limit their television watching.
Have books and other reading materials in the house.
Share favorite poems and songs with them.
Take them to the library—get them their own library cards.
Take them to museums and historical sites, when possible.
Discuss the daily news with them.
Tell your child you love them daily.
Review their homework.
Meet with their teachers.
Volunteer in the classroom.
Read your child’s American Idol Reading Books on a nightly basis.
Practice Sight Word Flashcards 2-3 nights a week.
Tell your child you love them before they go to school.
