To Parents
Pride Card Lunches
Each week you will find Mrs. Allen and several of her
students eating lunch in the classroom. Mrs. Allen brings the dessert!
Students who have earned 20 or more classroom pride-cards are eligible to
attend. 30 pride cards also earns a treasure chest reward! Congratulations to students who have been part of the lunch bunch.
Ice cream Club
Students are now taking the big, math facts test and are eligible to be part The Ice cream Club! Ask your child about this.
Reading Logs 
Parents, please ask your child what their reading book is
about! If they cannot tell you, without looking back inside the
book, then they need to reread the book. Writing on the reading log
should describe what the story was about. As a child writes what happened, they need to include the names of the characters and how the problem got solved. See the example in your child’s homework folder.
Vocabulary 
These tests are every Friday morning. Students should be
studying these words several times during the week, as needed. Most children will need a grown up to help them study. Reading the "clue words" underlined in yellow
will really help make studying easier. Vocabulary is so important for learning.
AR Reading 
Thank you to all parents who check to make sure their child reads their AR book every night. We are working towards our
personal goals and most students are doing great! Ask your child how
they are doing. In addition to being able to take AR tests every day in
class, students get one extra hour every Friday of AR catch up and test taking time!
