Early Life

Dwight Eisenhower was born in Denson, Texas, on October 14 1890 to David Eisenhower during a Texas thunderstorm.  Later, he and his family moved to Abilene, Kansas in 1891. But until 1945 Ike had no idea of where his birth home was.  He earned a nickname as little “Ike”.  As he grew up in a two story white-framed house, Dwight had to fight his anger issue. He liked spelling and math.  In his teens he played baseball and football.  After high school, Dwight took a night time job at Belle Springs Creamery to help his brother’s college education.  He loved to cook. As Ike got older he and his friends would play army, he soon found out that his parents were pacifists.
