Dear Parents and students:
Welcome to our class. This is going to be an exciting year full of new experiences. Your child will be learning new responsibilities and become more independent learners. We will start the year off with researching ocean animals, move into Fall Season (apples, pumpkins, leaves, spiders and bats), then go into Pilgrims, follow that with a unit on Antarctic Animals, a study on Rainforest animals, Farm animals and end with zoo animals. Fairy tales will take us to the end of the year! It should be great fun!!
Mondays will always be early release days at 1:10.
Class is: 8:10-1:10
Recess: 10:00-10:15
Lunch: 11:15- 11:50
Tuesday thru Friday:
Class is 8:10- 2:10
Recess is. 10:00-10:15
Lunch is: 11:20-12:05
Please make sure to clear all absences with the office.
Our P.E. days will be ever other Monday this year. Please make sure your child is dressed in the appropriate athletic shoes. It is also recommended that the girls try not to wear a dress on these days.
Students are invited to bring water bottles to keep themselves hydrated.
Homework is sent home Monday thru Thursday. The homework is an opportunity for your child to practice what we learned in class that day, as well as a window to you on how well your child comprehends the day’s lessons. Please review their work with them on a daily basis.
Volunteers are welcome any time. Please let me know the day and time you would like to come and I will try to have something prepared for you.
• Be nice to our friends.
• We listen when the teacher talks.
• We raise our hand before we speak.
Children will earn team points by demonstrating on-task behavior and making appropriate choices. They will earn constant praise and appreciation for a job and/or effort that fits the task,
If a child consistently makes bad choices or remains off-task they could loose a privilege for the day.
A.R. is not required for First Graders but if you child is reading fluently and comprehending what they read then I will get them started on A.R. after the Christmas Break.

If you have any questions or concerns I would love to meet with you and work on a plan together, that will make your child’s learning experience a complete success.
Thank you,
Mrs. Beason
